Washing machines typically have a hot and a cold fill. How can I install a Laundry to Landscape Greywater system with only a cold water supply? I read a Y-Piece connector might be the easiest fix. Do other installers have any experience with this scenario?

We have just this set-up at the LA EcoVillage (the machine is outside and hooked up from a spigot). I just connected the cold line, which works fine as long as you select “cold” water for the wash cycle. It will give an error if you choose warm or hot water. I wasn’t sure if using a y-connector and putting cold water into the hot would actually work because this machine supposedly can tell the temperature of the water.
