I am interested in sending out a form letter on greywater issues to as many local plumbers as I can find either by e or snail mail. I would like to make them aware of your upcoming workshop and the need for our community to expand its abilities to harness greywater effectively and safely.  Such a letter might be seen in two ways. One would be to simply inform them of workshops and various potentials for them to educate themselves in, such as landscape design, and perhaps even water quality measuring devices. On the other hand such a letter could also serve as a sort of polling question for plumbers to advertise the knowledge they may already have in these fields. Any thoughts on approaching this issue? Thanks

Thats a great idea! I also think informing/education landscape contractors would be equally important (landscape contractors are better suited to install greywater irrigation systems, though plumbers need to know about them and be able plumb homes to be greywater ready).

I would include basic educational resources in the letter, like Greywater Action’s website, the Ask This Old House video on greywater, and the greywater code.

If I’m understanding your polling idea correctly… to poll plumbers you’d need an easy way for them to return the info, which would be logistically more involved/complicated.

I think plumbers/landscape contractors would have the best ideas for how to reach others in their field.
