Interested in learning how to keep your garden green while reducing water consumption? Greywater, water that comes from showers, sinks, and washing machines, is a great source of outdoor irrigation water. Not only does greywater cut back on fresh water use, save time and money, it is an easy shift towards sustainable water systems. In this class you'll learn about how to choose plant friendly soaps, what kinds of systems work best in our area, information about codes, and the parts and tools needed to build these simple systems.

Hands-on Greywater Workshop from a shower

Learn how to divert greywater from a shower to irrigate fruit trees in a branched drain greywater system. This is a hands-on class, participants will be constructing the greywater system.

The class will cover:
Greywater principles, the best plants to water with greywater, common
pitfalls and how to avoid them, and how to install a system that is legal
under the new California code.

Location: Berkeley, CA (exact location will be emailed after registration is complete)

Cost: $30-100 sliding scale, limited work trade available.
