Postponed: Greywater and Fruit Tree Tour (Pomona and Claremont)

4th August 2018 @ 10:00 am - 4:00 pm

Do to the extreme heat this summer we’re postponing this tour until the spring. Hope you can make it then!

Are you interested in saving water? Do you love to eat fruit?

If so, join us as we explore greywater in action in edible gardens of Pomona and Claremont.

You’ll get to visit several homes with water saving greywater irrigation systems in place. You can check out the system, talk to the homeowners about their experience, and see what plants thrive with this plentiful supply of irrigation.

Tour sites include:

  • Three DIY-friendly Laundry-to-Landscape (L2L) systems that irrigate edible fruit trees and shrubs.
  • Two cooperative housing sites with an L2L, a branched drain gravity-fed shower, and drum-and-pump greywater systems irrigating productive and fun landscaping.
  • A whole-house greywater system with a self-cleaning filter, while pumping through drip irrigation line to water a dense, edible sub-tropical oasis.

Funding for this tour was generously provided by Patagonia.
