we recycle and reuse grey water for flushing , laundry and gardening. I have one doubt what happen to recycled grey water supplied to gardening during rainy season? Rainwater itself give enough water supply to garden…then what we are going to do that part of grey water during rainy season??

Hi Saranya,

Most US codes require greywater be redirected to sewer or septic during rainy times. If you are not being regulated by such a code, then you can safely send greywater into the landscape if you have good infiltration in your land. If you ever see standing water greywater should not be used- for health/safety reasons, and for plant health- soggy roots can harm most types of plants.

If you don’t have anywhere to put the greywater and are trying to dispose of it in the rainy season you could consider a covered, constructed wetland type planter to soak up the water.
