Is it okay to drain washing machine water to a residential street & its storm drain?

Hi,
No, greywater should never drain to the street or be allowed to enter a storm drain. The nutrients in greywater are a source of pollution as they cause algae to grow and rob oxygen from water ways. Putting these same nutrients into the landscape can benefit your plants, so long as you’re using “plant friendly” soaps and detergents.
If you don’t have need for the greywater you could make a basin filled with woodchips to soak up the water and prevent it from running off into the street or storm drain.
Hope this helps.
