Hi, I have set up a successful greywater branched drain system to mulched beds to water my fruit trees in my garden. The water is generally cool, at best tepid and comes from an outdoor sink, clothes washing sink and outdoor passive solar shower.
This year I hope to have an indoor bathroom/utility room built with a shower, bath and washing machine. I was planning to use a branched drain system again but wondered about the warmer water going straight into the mulch beds? Would it needs to be stored for a few hours to cool? Thanks!

By the time the water has traveled through the pipe, soaked into the mulch, and then soaked into the soil it won’t be hot anymore. It may be warm still, but that’s fine for the plants! I’ve never seen any problems with the water temperature and plants in a branched drain system (or in any other system).
