I’m an irrigation contractor. I have a client that is installing a 150 gal wooden hot tub that will not be treated with any chemicals or salt, straight water. We would like to drain the tub into a 1/2” inline emitter drip system that will be filtered pre drip line. The drip zone will be about 4-5’ above the drain.

Hat is the best pump to use?

Hi Seth,

There are in-line pumps that may work in your application, though I haven’t used them myself. Another possibility is a small unit, like a Saniflo pump, that can receive the greywater via gravity and then pump it right out.

I’d also consider using 1/2 tubing with 1/4″ lines to irrigate instead of in-line drip. There will be less potential for future clogging and 1/4″ point irrigation would be suitable for many types of plantings.

Good luck with the system!
