How close can a branched drain greywater system safely be to a creek or river?

The current California code has a 100 foot set back from creeks and rivers.
Previous versions of the code had 50 feet set backs. Since soil type affects treatment of greywater the actual safe distance would depend on the soil and amount of greywater generated.
