I’ve looked on Craigslist for barrels that I can convert into rain barrels but I haven’t had any luck. Are there other places to look? I don’t want to purchase new barrels.

Also if you’re in southern CA, Apex Drum has a good line of used barrels and sometimes 275-gallon IBCs.

Food import stores, breweries, beverage companies, soup companies, etc. often have them for free if you come pick them up. I would do a little google searching, and if you can’t find anything try some local forums- people often post resources like that in permaculture type forums.
