Im in the process of designing my new yard which is watered through an aerobic wastewater system and im really keen to grow fruit trees.

In particular ive bought an avocado tree but ive heard they really dont like salty water.

Can anyone recommend fruit trees that are best suited to grey water and has anyone had success growing avocado?

Hi Jared,

It’s easy to keep salts out of greywater, but you do have to monitor products. If you keep salts out greywater is good quality irrigation water and suitable for avocado. I know of several successful greywater-irrigated avocado trees.

We recommend “plant friendly” products, which don’t contain boron or lots of salts. Then the water is suitable for any fruit tree.

There are more resources on our site in FAQ and resource page about products.

Good luck with your system!
