Do you have a thirsty garden? Want to lower your summer water bills? Greywater may be for you! Join this fun informative tour and learn about backyard greywater irrigation systems in Portland. These systems were installed during summers 2016 and 2017, as part of the PDX Greywater Partnership, which installed the first eight legal residential-scale greywater systems within the City of Portland.
The tour will be self-directed to three different yards, where an on-site host will showcase the system. Tour-goers may visit one or more sites in any order. The tour will culminate with an evening social at the home of Ted Labbe and Kelly Rodgers, from 4-7p (see below for more info on that).
Wondering what greywater is? It is lightly-used water from your washer, sinks, and shower/bath, that can be safely re-used for irrigation in your yard.

PDX Greywater Partnership is an ongoing effort of Greywater Action, Depave, Recode, Oregon Tradeswomen Inc., East and West Multnomah Soil and Water Conservation Districts, and others to mainstream home-scale greywater re-use in Portland and beyond.

Site/arrival instructions: From the main driveway on NE Going St, walk all the way to the back of the property past the covered garages on the left. Follow the concrete walkway, with the raised beds on your right, to the two-unit building beyond. Noelle and Eli’s home is the one on the left. Noelle will be on site and offering tours from 10a-noon.

2pm-4pm Kailash EcoVillage garden, hosted by Ole Ersson

Site/arrival instructions: Please park on the public street, not in the site parking lot. From the parking lot, walk through the ground-floor building breezeway and go to the NE corner of the covered bike shed. Ole will be on site and offering tours from 2-4p.

2pm-5pm Home of Ted Labbe and Kelly Rodgers, hosted by Ted Labbe

Site/arrival instructions: Please go through back gate on the right side of the building and do not disturb the basement unit tenants. Ted will be in the backyard from 2-5p giving tours.
