We have a laundry to landscape system that was installed in 2012. Our soil is adobe, which over the years has heaved and migrated, so that the actual mulch basin is much shallower than when installed. Plus the weeds have taken over (we’re older and unable to keep up the weeding as before). Is there a rule of thumb as to how often a mulch basin should be renewed? And are there recommendations of landscapers who are familiar with greywater systems? I’m in Petaluma. Thanks.

Hi Judy,
The rule of thumb is check on your basins once a year, and you’ll probably need to replenish mulch ever other year. Sounds like your basins are in need of a little maintenance 🙂
We have a few people listed on our website, on the installers page, who work in Petaluma. You could try Equinox Landscaping, or ask at Daily Acts.
