Hi All –

I have read the faqs here about an auxiliary pump versus just using your washing machine’s built in pump, and I believe it is appropriate for us to install an auxiliary pump to help out the washer.  (The washer needs to pump up a maximum of 5 feet straight up, then 9 feet horizontally to the outside of the house, and then there is about 2.5 feet of drop to the ground level.)  My question is:  do I need to put the water into a giant bucket first and have a pump remove the water from the bucket, or is there any way to put in an in-line pump without storing any water in any bucket?  And if so (no bucket) how would this work?  Thanks!

Suzanne

Hi,

It sounds like you may be able to install a system without an auxiliary pump (a regular laundry-to-landscape system), but if your washer has trouble pumping out the water, or if you just think you need another pump then this is the type I’m familiar with

And it does not need a tank, but does need a utility sink to drain into (see images from the website)

Good luck with your system!
